HOW WAM BARN CAME TO BE
Tom [Founder | Enthusiast | Nerd]
I’ve always been a boy of hobbies. Videogames, TV shows, strength-training, pizza… and cars, to name a few. I recall impressing my friends and family as a 10-year-old by being able to identify almost any car’s make and model from hundreds of metres away. And the obsession only got worse as I came of driving age.
I started with a Vauxhall Vectra hand-me-down at age 19, with 120k miles on the clock and a semi-functional gearbox. At age 22, I was able to save up £3k to buy my true “first car” – a beautiful, red, 2000-registered 1.6 VW Polo GTI. Then it was onto a Ford Focus ST, followed by a Focus RS, before graduating to a fully-financed E92 M3 in 2013. From there I worked through various M4s and M3s, an M2, before my first “supercar” in 2017 – an AMG GTS (I know, not really… but it was to me). 2020 onwards has been… well… a little bit wild. WAM Barn is the result!
